Regrets that Prof. Jackson was able to meet with him (in London?) for only a few minutes, and could not come to Cambridge to examine his collection of Persian manuscripts, a typed catalog of which he is now sending to him ("A catalogue of Persian manuscripts in the private library of Shamsul Ulama Sayyid Ali Bilgrami of Hyderabad, Deccan, India"). He wishes to offer the collection to Columbia University, through Jackson, for the price of 400 pounds. He has been lecturer in Marāthi at Cambridge for five years, but his health has broken down and he will be returning to India on a year's leave.
